Aksu Ferroalloy Plant plans to complete renovation of one of the furnaces of the smelting shop
Aksu ferroalloy plant, Kazchrome branch, intends to complete the renovation of furnace No. 64 in smelting shop No. 6 within the current month. "The project is scheduled to be completed at the end of June," the press service said. The volume of investments in the project is 26 billion tenge. As the company has specified, furnace No. 64 is the first of four furnaces of melting shop No. 6 which are subject to renovation.
"The project is the only one in the former CIS. Modern technology and imported equipment have been introduced. The automation of the full cycle of the technological process will be applied," Ganibet Aubakirov, head of the regional department of industrial and innovative development, said at a briefing on Wednesday, commenting on the implementation of the project.
It was reported that in the next five years it is planned to renovate the smelting shop No. 6 of Aksu ferroalloy plant with the improvement of technical and economic indicators due to the application of preheating of the charge with heat from combustion of outgoing ferroalloy gases of the furnace.
Renovation of smelting shop No. 6 is expected to increase ferroalloy production by 35% and reduce specific electricity consumption by 25%. Kazchrome unites four structural subdivisions of its branches, including the Don Mining and Processing Plant in Aktobe Region, Khromtau, the Kazmarganets Mining Department in Karaganda Region, Aksu in Pavlodar Region, and Aktobe Ferroalloy Plants. The company employs almost 19 thousand people.
