At the World Mining Congress, the best Kazakhstani specialists in mining and metallurgical industry will be awarded within the framework of competition «Golden Hephaestus»

This year in Kazakhstan World Mining Congress (WMC) will take place for the first time - a global event in mining industry, which will be held for the 25th anniversary time for WMC. Leading institutes and companies of the world will present their latest developments in mining and metallurgical industry. During the years of independence of Kazakhstan, industry experts made a significant contribution to formation and development of mining and metallurgical industry.

It is a reminder that within the framework of AMM Congress, annual competition «Golden Hephaestus» for professionals of mining and metallurgical industry is traditionally held on MMC site in Astana. The main task of competition is to identify achievements of specialists in the field of geology, metallurgy and mining. This year, official ceremony of national award presentation will be held for the 9th time.

Growing number of participants is due to keen interest of various representatives of mining and metallurgical community. The terms of competition and participation in it have unconditional advantages:

• objective assessment of independent judges
• maximum transparent evaluation criteria *
• electronic system for submission and collection of information about participants
• opportunity to present your achievements to respected specialists of mining industry
• opportunity to receive a prestigious award, being a representative of non-industrial field - professionals of mining industry, as well as journalists, students, academic teachers can directly take part in the competition

Last year, 190 applications were reviewed by expert judges. The result of competition «Golden Hephaestus» in 2017 was awarding of 12 winners with statuettes, as well as cash prize in several nominations. A distinctive feature of competition «Golden Hephaestus» in 2018 is opportunity demonstrate your achievements not only to compatriots, but also to international specialists of the mining and metallurgical Congress. At the moment, 18 international educational institutions, 47 associations from 30 countries have confirmed their participation in WMC.

Honorary awarding ceremony of industry competition «Golden Hephaestus» will be held on June 20, 2018, on the second day of WMC.
