First Kazakhstani International Mineral Resources and Metallurgy Congress

“Astana Minerals & Metallurgy – АММ 2010”

June 30-1 July, Astana.

This Congress is a new industry event in mineral resources and metallurgy sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The project concept includes the world’s latest efficient techniques, technologies and innovations in the field of organization of exhibition and conference projects. The АММ-2010 structure embraces various aspects of industry vital activity: policy, economy, methods and technology, services, society, ecology, human resource, mass media.

Congress Main Objects

• Create in Astana new format industry event based on latest advances of world exhibition business
• Contribute in attracting investments in the sector of mineral resources and metallurgy of RoK. Contribution in transition from raw appeal of the economy towards technological science-intensive services in the industry of RoK;
• Enhance Astana’s potential as a platform of interaction between governmental authorities and business structures (G 2 B Government to Business);
• Support for Kazakhstani producers and industry as a whole.

The Congress shall include the following events:

The following topics shall be discussed in view of the Forum theme: “Growth and Transformation of World Metallurgical Industry”:

- Strategic vision of importance of metallurgical sector in transformation of global economy

- The role of emerging markets in the structure of world metallurgy

- Innovative development of metallurgical industry

- Reproportion between production and consumption of metal products

- Dominant factors affecting development and competitiveness of metallurgical industry

- Sustainable development and efficiency of metallurgical business

- Panel discussions with participation of government authorities, metallurgical companies, analysis services

The Technical Conference will be held parallel with main sessions of the Forum and will offer a programme of seminars and presentations of the companies presenting their techniques, equipment and services for mining and metallurgical industry. Audience of the Conference will be the guests of the exhibition as potential consumers of equipment, technologies and services. Before entrance to Technical Conference holding hall the audience may get acquainted with theses and presentation illustrations of the reports in Zone of Poster Presentations.

Exhibition organization contains latest world efficient techniques, technologies and innovations for increase in business efficiency of exhibitors and quests activity: business contacts planning service, online booking attendance and visit, “Event & PR Services”, exhibitors distance learning, online visit, etc. Forum, Exhibition, Technical Conference and Museum Exposition will be located on a unified space that will allow free visiting of exposition section of the Event for all delegates and VIP guests of the Congress.

In addition to industry exhibition, Exhibition will include zone “Anniversary of the Year” with allocation of stands of industry heroes of anniversary 2010 and “Media City” with highly topical programme and exposition of the Congress media support.

Two charitable contributions in support of Orphan Asylums of the City of Astana as well as Honoured Veterans and large families of workers of Kazakhstan mining and metallurgical industry shall be organized within the framework of the Congress АММ - 2010.

The Congress launches an absolutely new intellectual product – “Temir Kazyk. Intel™” Development Centre” (TKI™), which is established by the official partners of АММ – 2010 project – “Khas Sheber” and “Human Capital Lead” companies.

Project АММ-2010 creates a foundation for establishment of permanent RoK Mineral Resources Museum in Astana, dedicated particularly to mining and metallurgical complex (MMC) of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Congress will include a Museum Exposition consisting of models, specimen, exhibits, publications, photos and movies related to MMC RoK. After AMM-2010 is ended, the exposition shall be passed to the Akimat of Astana for further organization of the Museum.

First time in Kazakhstan, the Congress АММ – 2010 shall include Nation Annual Industry Competition for the top in mining art and metallurgy of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Golden Hephaestus - 2010”.

All segments of mining and metallurgy complex of the Republic of Kazakhstan: core government institutions, producers and suppliers of industrial equipment and engineering, service companies, financial institutions and investment groups, international professional society, scientific research and design institutes, core educational structures, special mass media, etc. are invited to participate in the Congress. General format of the Congress - G2B (Government to Business) is a format of interaction between executive authorities and business structures for the purpose of their most efficient cooperation.

The Congress offers a number of Partnership Opportunities including a group of marketing and publicity events aimed to attraction of positive attention to the partner companies. Organizing Committee offers partner proposals both of popular format (partner of registration, delegatory bags, etc.) and of creatively different format. AMM-2010 Organizing Committee also effects partner collaboration with mass media, legal and marketing companies, service centres, air agencies and hotels on a barter basis.

АММ – 2010 project pursues development of the capital of Kazakhstan as a strategic point of meetings at highest government and business level affecting political and economical developments of the Central Asian Region and CIS in the whole. The Congress reflects serious intention of its organizers to raise the level of congress activities in Kazakhstan to international standards. Congress АММ-2010 is included into official scenario of Birth Day of the capital of Kazakhstan – Astana (of 6th of July 2010).

Project АММ-2010 will afford opportunities of meetings with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, heads of government competent authorities of RoK, chairpersons of national industry holdings, chief executives of major commercial companies of the industry.

The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan is expected to visit the Congress. Leaders of the Government of Russia and many other honorary guests are invited to participate in AMM-2010.

“Astana Minerals & Metallurgy” possesses all grounds to become the annual meeting point of participants of mining and metallurgical sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan and foreign mining and metallurgical sector, where every participant may receive update  industry information and new business contacts, participate in discussions, professional competitions and specialized events, make his own professional and personal contribution to the development of mining and metallurgical industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan and community in the whole.
